What Could Have Been - "Ditched" Adidas Schalke 04 Kit Sign Off Branding - Inspired By Carbon Chemical Makeup
Yesterday, we revealed that the Adidas FC Bayern Munchen 20-21 kits will feature a new proud label on the back under the collar. Former Adidas designer Marcus Dilley, who now has his own design studio, already some days ago shared some interesting info - German club FC Schalke 04 could have also got a new 'sign off' two years ago.
Sine a few years, the kits of FC Schalke 04 have been featuring the club's slogan 'Wir leben dich' (We are living you). The sign off that ewas showcased by Marcus Dilley was created for their possible Adidas 2018-19 kits - in the end, Umbro became S04's kit maker, so the branding was never released.

Before Schalke switched to Umbro, Marcus Dilley was set to design their 18/19 kit. As part of that process he looked at creating a new sign off for the club that referenced their mining history by looking at the chemical makeup of carbon.
The result is a unique branding that incorporates the S04 letters as well as the chemical makeup of carbon.
The current 2019-2020 FC Schalke 04 jerseys still feature the 'Wir leben dich" next to the club logo.
