After Indefinite Delays: Nike 2020 National Team & 20-21 Club Kit Release Dates Leaked

There has been a lot of confusion following Nike's (as well as Adidas' and Puma's) decision to indefinitely delay the release of its national team kits - apart from South Korea that is - due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Initially slated for launch in late March, thanks to our good friend @lasource75006 we have now learned that Nike's 2020 international jerseys will now instead be released in September, which is when the next national team window is currently most likely to take place. All of this is of course highly dependent on how the current situation evolves.

In terms of club kits, quite a few including Barcelona and PSG were originally set to be unveiled as early as late April / May. The Nike 20-21 club home kits will instead now be released in July, according to @lasource75006.

It's quite crazy to see Nike's 2020 national team kits moved back by almost half a year, but it's understandable seeing the postponement of the Copa America, Euros and the Olympics. Another reason Nike made this choice is to have as much time between club and national team launches in order to maximize exposure and in turn, revenue.

We don't yet know what will happen with the release of Nike's 2020-21 away kits, which were initially also slated for release in July. We might see them being released together with the home kits or, more likely, moved back to August to accommodate the updated schedule.

We have no confirmed info on either Adidas or Puma but it's safe to expect similar decisions are currently being or have already been made over in Herzogenaurach, Germany, where both companies are based.

Interestingly, Marco Greco, Marketing-LeiterOchsner Sport, the official retailer of the Puma-sponsored Swiss national team, was quoted "Christmas sales would be lucrative" when asked about when we could expect the Switzerland 2020-21 home kit to be launched.

Stay tuned for more info on the release dates of the Adidas, Nike and Puma 2020-21 kits.
