Update: FC Barcelona calculates losses between 15 and 25 million euros because of the canceled release of the Nike Barca 20-21 home kit due to a manufacturing error according to Mundo Deportivo. It was postponed from July to September.
Mundo Deportivo also reports that at "FC Barcelona there are those who ask not to compromise with the American multinational and go to court if it does not advance the money".
Some days ago, it appeared that Nike's FC Barcelona 2020-2021 home jersey launch had to be postponed in the last minute because of a quality issue with the replica kit (losing their color when coming in contact with water or sweat). Barça To Ask Nike To Compensate Losses Because 20-21 Home Kit Could Not Be Released
According to Catalan sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barça President Bartomeu has now asked his executives to make a valuation of the losses to ask Nike for that amount. If the American company refuses, Barça will go to court.
Nike has not yet said when it will be able to supply the fixed FC Barcelona 20-21 home kits for stores, including those of the club. It could take Nike months to do so, with the most likely launch date in September instead of July.
