Sunday, 19 July 2020
Last week, it was revealed by reliable German sports newspaper Kicker that German Bundesliga club Hertha is to end its deal with discounter TEDi one year early. Now a Berlin-based newspaper group reports that investor Lars Windhorst wants "a really big sponsor for the club".

Hertha Berlin To Change Main Sponsor One Year Early

Hertha BSC Wants Big Sponsor Like Amazon or Tesla on Chest

According to information from newspapers "Berliner Zeitung"and "Berliner Kurier" (they belong together), Hertha Berlin once again to compete for the US companies Tesla and Amazon as new partners.

Hertha BSC want a global corporation instead of cheap chain. The discounter Tedi does not fit the new image . Windhorst wants a big sponsor for his Big City Club.

Rumors are also circulating that the previous sleeve sponsor Hyundai - like Tedi 2018 - could move from arm to chest. But for Windhorst, the South Korean car manufacturer is also said to be one size too small.

A new Hertha BSC kit deal could be worth up to 20 million Euro, if the report can be believed.

Rumors plausibility: 20% While the report sounds logically at first glance, both Amazon and Tesla have not been sponsoring any sports team yet. So we think it is highly unlikely that one f them will become the club's new sponsor.

What makes the deal a bit more likely is that car manufacturer Tesla is building a gigantic factory in Grünheide, Brandenburg, near Berlin.
