New Arsenal FC 20-21 Squad Numbers Announced
After presenting the club's new home kit together with supplier adidas earlier this week, Arsenal Football Club shortly after revealed some changes to the squads numbers from the 2020-21 season - amongst others AFC youth product Bukayo Saka receives a new kit number for the 2020-21 season.
On another note, Arsenal's 2020-21 kit numbers are completely unique as the North London club's kit supplier adidas created an exclusive font for the Gunners - inspired by the past to rewrite the future.
Arsenal FC 2020-2021 Squad Numbers
As Arsenal Football Club announced on Thursday, Saka switches from the 77 to the clean number 7 in the future, which was already worn by Tomáš Rosický during the early 2000s (2006/07 - 2015/16), amongst others. In the season before, Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan techically still occupied Arsenal's No. 7 as he was on a one-year loan in Italy playing for Roma. At the moment, Henrikh Mkhitaryan's future within the squad is unclear.
Already signed with AFC before last season's kick-off, Saint-Étienne's prodigy William Saliba was immediately moved back to the South French outfit in a one-year loan deal. In the 2020-21 season, William Saliba will play for Arsenal FC and gets the 4. Arsenal's number 4 has been worn by iconic Arsenal players such as Patrick Vieira (1996-97 - 2004-05).
