DONE DEAL: Adidas to Take Over Marseille From 27-28 Season Already
- Adidas Takeover Confirmed: Adidas has finalized its deal to become Olympique Marseille's new kit supplier, with the partnership now officially commencing with the 2027/28 season, earlier than the initially anticipated 2028/29 season.
- Financial Advantage for Marseille: By ending their contract with Puma a year early, Marseille stands to significantly increase their commercial kit revenue, potentially doubling it from an estimated €20-25 million annually to €40-50 million per year with Adidas.
- Iconic Historical Partnership: Adidas's return rekindles a historic partnership with Olympique Marseille, having previously supplied the club almost continuously from 1974 to 2018, a period that included their 1993 UEFA Champions League victory.
Update - Thursday, September 25, 2026: According to our information, the deal has been finalized. Adidas is preparing Olympique Marseille’s jerseys for the 2027/28 season and will take over as the club’s new kit supplier. Puma's partnership with Marseille will end after the 2026/27 season.
While Adidas was initially expected to replace Puma starting in the 28-29 season on a massive deal worth an estimated €40-50 million per year, Marseille have been actively exploring a negotiated early termination or buyout of Puma's final contract year to secure the German brand's return for the 27-28 campaign. Puma's current agreement, extended in 2021 to run through June 2028, pays OM approximately €20-25 million annually, meaning the early exit allows the Ligue 1 club to virtually double their commercial kit revenue a full year earlier.
Adidas Marseille Kit Deal: 27-28 Begin Almost Certain
Media reports in France, initially broken by RMC Sport and confirmed by AFP, indicated that Adidas had sealed an agreement to replace Puma once the current contract expires in June 2028. That timeline would make the 28-29 campaign the official start of the new partnership. Now it’s clear: Adidas will take over the supplying-deal of Marseille from 27-28 already. Puma has been outfitting OM since 2018 on an agreement estimated at roughly €20m to €25m per year.
Adidas represents the most iconic era of Olympique de Marseille's history, having supplied the club almost uninterrupted between 1974 and 2018, most notably during their 1993 UEFA Champions League triumph.
