Update: Five days after surprisingly lacing up in a blackout pair of the Mizuno Morelia Neo III Beta boots, Thiago has been spotted wearing a blackout version of the Nike Phantom GT. This is a quite clear indicator that his contract with Nike has ended.

Thiago has been sponsored by Nike for many, many years. In fact, the Barca youth product had never laced up in another boot brand than Nike during his career as professional.

Thiago Alcântara Wears Blackout Mizuno Morelia Neo II Football Boots

Instead of his usual choice, the (now discontinued) Nike Phantom Venom, Thiago laced up in a blackout version of the Mizuno Morelia Neo II soccer cleats. He opted for the Mixed FG-SG version.

It was the first time ever that Thiago Alcântara did not lace up in Nike but in Mizuno football boots. However, his boot choice is not completely new, at least for his family...

In late 2018, Thiago's brother, Rafinha started wearing blackout Mizuno football boot instead of his usual Adidas boots. He was sued by Adidas back then, but is now again wearing Adidas football boots (Adidas X with laces).
