'We Are Ditching The Templates' - England & Liverpool Have Same Keeper Kits

In February 2020, Nike announced that they are ditching the templates. Now after a summer of kit launches by the Swoosh, there are some examples in which Nike's big announcement has not been redeemed.

Nike Liverpool vs England 2020-21 Goalkeeper Kits

As "spotted" by This Is Anfield and Four Four Two Liverpool journalist Jack Lusby, the England 2020-21 and Liverpool 2020-21 keeper home kits are identical. He used this fact for a Tweet to bash Nike.

Nike designers had 65 chassis options available

However, Nike did never announce that they will not use templates anymore for their kits, at least for some of them. In fact, Nike's responsive Heidi Burgett said that "designers had 65 chassis options available to them across varying necklines, sleeves, cuffs, badge placement". This also explains why many of Nike's actual "bespoke" 2020-2021 jerseys look very similar.

Nike did not release any bespoke 20-21 goalkeeper kits yet

The Swoosh did not design any unique goalkeeper jerseys for the 2020-2021 season, just as it has been case since years.

To be fair, it has to be said that it would be nearly impossible (not profitable at all) for Nike to do it completely without templates, especially for the high amount of keeper kits and other gear that is not selling much.

Many other Nike 2020-2021 jerseys have unique details such as a subtle lions printing on the England 2020 home kit, as spotted by La Casaca.
