No More Adidas: David Raya to Join Nike?
- David Raya's Boot Sponsorship Change: Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has fueled speculation of a switch to Nike by wearing their boots in a recent Premier League match, departing from his long-standing use of Adidas footwear.
- Unusual Boot Choice for a Goalkeeper: Raya's selection of the lightweight Nike Mercurial Superfly 11 is unconventional for a goalkeeper, who typically prefer control-focused boots, highlighting his emphasis on agility and quick footwork.
- Unconfirmed Sponsorship Agreement: While Raya's visible transition suggests his Adidas contract may have ended, neither Nike nor Raya has officially confirmed a permanent agreement, indicating he might be a boot free agent or finalizing a deal.
Arsenal first-choice goalkeeper David Raya has sparked widespread speculation regarding his boot sponsorship after being spotted wearing Nike footwear in a recent Premier League outing.
David Raya to Join Nike?
The Spanish international had spent the past months consistently lacing up, or rather slipping into, the laceless Adidas Predator 20+ LL, a retro favorite known for its prominent rubber Demonskin spikes. However, Raya surprised boot spotters by stepping onto the pitch wearing the Nike Mercurial Superfly 11 from the "Break 'Em" pack, leaving his trusted Predators on the bench.
Goalkeepers traditionally tend to favor control- and touch-oriented silos such as the Adidas Predator, Adidas Copa, or Nike Tiempo to assist with stability and long-range distribution.
Raya choosing the lightweight, speed-driven Mercurial line represents a rare preference for a goalkeeper at the elite level, highlighting his emphasis on agility and quick footwork inside the penalty area.
Raya making such a noticeable on-pitch transition strongly suggests that his previous agreement with the Three Stripes may have expired.
Neither Nike nor Raya has officially confirmed a permanent contract just yet. It remains to be seen whether the Gunners' shot-stopper is simply testing the waters as a boot free agent or finalizing an official agreement to join the Swoosh's roster for the 26-27 campaign.

FC Cartagena 26-27 Away Kit Released
Spanish side FC Cartagena and Macron have officially launched their new away kit for the 26-27 season, paying homage to the city's rich three-thousand-year heritage. Draped in traditional carmesí red, the jersey is decorated with an intricate all-over graphic pattern inspired by an ancient Roman mosaic uncovered in the crypt beneath the Catedral de Santa María la Vieja. Elegant gold detailing highlights the monochrome crest, collar trim, sleeve cuffs, and sponsor emblems, completed by the Latin motto Carthago Nova Invicta Est subtly sublimated onto the lower hem.
