SC Freiburg Player Has Red / Green Color Blindness - Freiburg Changes Kit Last-Minute

Instead of their usual red home kit, Freiburg wore their yellow third kit. This was because one of Freiburg's players has a red-and-green weakness. This was announced just very shortly before the game.

Coach Christian Streich explained on Sky less than an hour before the game why Freiburg can't just play in the red home jerseys: "Because Augsburg plays with a darker green and we play in a non-bright red. We have a player in the team who has problems with red and green. That's when we said: we have to change that," Streich said, reiterating, "We don't want him to play a pass into the opponent's feet."

German DFL did not had in mind the color blindness problem when selecting the kits

Augsburg could have just worn their white home kit, but it seems like German DFL did not had in mind the color blindness problem when determining the kits for the match.
