Chicago Fire To Return To Red Kits In 2023, New Logo Coming in Mid-2021
In late 2019, Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire made fans angry by launching an all-new logo and visual identity. In early 2021, the club announced that they will release a new logo, with fans evolved throughout the project. Now more details about Chicago Fire's new logo and branding have been revealed.
Clubs Hope To Show Off New Logo 'Before Mid-Season Deadline'
The new Chicago Fire logo is soon to be revealed - there’s a mid-season deadline to get the new logo to Adidas and other merchandise partners in order to be able to use the new logo for the 2022 season. Chicago Fire does not want to have their crown crest again in 2022.
Lead designer Matthew Wolff is far along in the design process
The new Chicago Fire logo will be perhaps unveiled this summer. Chicago Fire FC’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Kyle Sheldon, said the following about it.
“Our hope is that we can find a way to reveal some version of, or the full crest in advance of that final deadline, which is a little bit to be determined as well, but we expect will be mid-season,” Sheldon says.
It is Chicago Fire's plan that the new logo represents the club for years to come.
The idea, Sheldon says, is to come up with something no one will want to change, ever.
“Matt Wolff [the designer of the new branding] is fond of saying, and I think it’s a good frame of mind, that this mark should outlive us all,” Sheldon says.

The launch celebrates a historic milestone, marking 20 years of uninterrupted partnership between the team and the Italian sportswear brand.
