Arsenal Goalkeeper Leno Wears Away Jersey Against Chelsea
Update: Arsenal FC goalkeeper Leno is currently wearing the club's new away shirt at home against Chelsea, confirming our earlier assumption of it being also used as a goalkeeper shirt.
However, it is nothing new that Arsenal's German goalkeeper wears the outfield player jerseys as he already did that last season against Wolverhampton.
With the release of the new Arsenal away kit for next season, it is also revealed that the shirt can be used for the goalkeeper as well.
Arsenal have already unveiled an all-green goalkeeper kit for 21-22 season along with the away kit.
Arsenal Away Kit To Also Be Used As GK Kit
While for some, seeing the keeper wearing the away jersey may seem odd, this is not the case for Arsenal, and Bernd Leno in particular.
In the match between the Gunners and Wolves back in November 2020, Leno had to use the away jersey due to a kit clash with Wolves' Rui Patricio.
With Leno also appeared in the photos of the Arsenal 21-22 away kit announcement, we can assume that it may also be a goalkeeper kit alongside the green one.
However, it could just be an emergency option similar to the match against Wolves as the Arsenal home kit is yet to be released.
What do you think of the possibility of Arsenal using the away shirt for goalkeepers as well? Tell us in the comment section below.
