All-New Streamlined Liga Portugal Kit Font Leaked?

From the 2021-22 season, the Liga Portugal has an all-new visual identity. Now a picture of Benfica suggests that the league will also get a new typeface.

The Portuguese league has had the same typeface since the 2015-16 season when NOS became the league's sole title sponsor. From 2021-22, Bwin is the league's title sponsor - the league is now called Liga Portugal Bwin.

Liga Portugal 2021-22 Typeface?

The new Liga Portugal 21-22 kit typeface has a more edgy look than the previous one. It also removes all the NOS branding of the old typeface (pattern + logo).

However, the font visible on the presentation picture of Gil Dias is the only picture available of that typeface. Indeed, it is likely that it shows off a custom SL Benfica font.

In Benfica's and other Portuguese teams' online store, the font offered has the same style as the old one, just without the NOS brandings.

It remains to be seen how the final Liga Portugal 21-22 kit font will look like and if the new Liga Portugal 21-22 kit font will feature a Bwin branding.

Watch out for the back of the kits in the Liga Portugal Bwin when the league kicks off on 8 August 2021.
