Messi's Kit (Font) History At Barça - Disregarded By The Club

After announcing that the contract Messi could not be extended, FC Barcelona is celebrating the Argentinians time at the club.

Barcelona just used the current typeface for its honor video

Barça shared a short video showing off the shirts from the back worn by Messi since he made his official first-team debut in the 2004-05 season. However, the club did not use the classic kit fonts but the new league-wide La Liga typeface for the video. We want to change that - let us take a look at the different FC Barcelona typefaces of the Messi era. Thanks to @EmilioSansolini for the illustrations and @phildelves for the heads-up.

FC Barcelona Kit Font History Since 2004 - Messi Era

Messi made his FC Barcelona debut in October 2003 wearing the No. 30 shirt (non-first team players in Spain always wear above 25). For the 2006-07 season, Messi switched to the No. 19, while he was handed the No. 10 after Ronaldinho left the club in 2008.

FC Barcelona had some incredible kit and numbers in Messi's time. The often-copied typeface of the 2014-15 season was likely the most remarkable one.

Since the 2017-18 season, FC Barcelona is using the streamlined La Liga kit typeface.
