Update: Less than one week after we got the first look at the Mexico 2022 World Cup home kit, there are already fakes based on the render of @matteuscm floating around online. The final design will be similar but not identical, and the colors not as bleached as in the picture below.

Adidas' World Cup home kits could be released in late May/early June alreadyMexico's 2022 World Cup home kit could be already released in early June 2022, in time for the next international fixtures.

Update: Designer @Vatioz has created a great render of the Mexico 2022 World Cup home kit, with help from kit illustrator @LuchoLasS. It features the leaked Adidas font on the front.

Mexico will be back in a green kit after almost four years for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the federation confirmed.

The main design feature of the Mexico 2022 home jersey is a subtle graphic print on the upper part and sleeves, inspired by the Quetzalcoatl.

In Mexican culture, Quetzalcoatl is the god of wind, patron of priests, and inventor of calendars and books. Occasionally, he is also depicted as a symbol of death and resurrection.

The Adidas Mexico 2022 World Cup home shirt features the new crest of the Mexican national team, which was unveiled in December of 2021.

All-New Mexico Logo Leaked

White and red are also used for detailing on the green Mexico 2022 home jersey, in the form of the 3 Stripes on the shoulders, a thin stripe on each side of the shirt and the Adidas logo on the right.

In terms of template, the lateral stripe seen on the new Mexico home shirt indicates that it's the same one we first saw pictured at Bayern Munich back in 2020.

Returning to a green home kit will be seen as a much welcome change even if perhaps a bit surprising following more than 40 games without wearing a green kit. Mexico's 2018 World Cup kit was green and a friendly against Argentina later that year marked the last time the Mexico senior wore a green kit to date. The Olympics kit, worn by the U24s earlier this summer and not made by Adidas, was also green.

Mexico's last green home kits

Green is by far Mexico's most traditional home kit color. All modern Mexico home shirts were green until Adidas switched to a black design in 2015. Check out the full Mexico kit history over at Football Kit Archive.

Mexcio 2022 World Cup Away Kit

Below you can see the prediction of the away shirt by @TigresJersey.

The Mexico 2022 away kit will be off-white with dark red detailing, dark green shorts and socks in the same color as the shirt.

Also inspired by the "Feathered Serpent", the away shirt will have a pattern based on its skin.

Alternative shorts and socks will be available for both the home and the away kit.

Adidas' 2022 World Cup kits are expected to be released over the summer, although it's not unthinkable that Mexico's could be released before then.
