Mexico 2022 World Cup Home Kit Released

Adidas last night launched the new Mexico 2022 home kit, which will be worn at the World Cup later this year.

It's the first time in many years that Mexico will have a green home kit. Mexico's 2018 World Cup kit was green and a friendly against Argentina later that year marked the last time the Mexico senior wore a green kit to date. The Olympics kit, worn by the U24s earlier this summer and not made by Adidas, was also green.

Mexico 2022 World Cup Home Kit

This is the Mexico 2022 home kit by Adidas.

The Adidas Mexico 2022 World Cup home kit is green with white shorts and red socks, bringing back Mexico's iconic colors.

The main design feature of the Mexico 2022 home jersey is a subtle graphic print on the upper part and sleeves, inspired by the Quetzalcoatl.

In Mexican culture, Quetzalcoatl is the god of wind, patron of priests, and inventor of calendars and books. Occasionally, he is also depicted as a symbol of death and resurrection. A Quetzalcoatl graphic is also on the back under the collar.

The Adidas Mexico 2022 World Cup home shirt features the new crest of the Mexican national team, which was unveiled in December of 2021.

White and red are also used for detailing on the green Mexico 2022 home jersey, in the form of the 3 Stripes on the shoulders, a thin stripe on each side and lower back of the shirt and the Adidas logo on the right chest.

In terms of template, the lateral stripe seen on the new Mexico home shirt indicates that it's the same one we first saw pictured at Bayern Munich back in 2020. This template, or rather variations of it, will be used by all major Adidas teams at the World Cup.

White shorts and red socks complete the kit, although alternative green shorts and socks will be available in the case of clashes.

Mexcio 2022 World Cup Away Kit

Below you can see the prediction of the away shirt by @TigresJersey.

The Mexico 2022 away kit will be off-white with dark red detailing, dark green shorts and socks in the same color as the shirt.

Also inspired by the "Feathered Serpent", the away shirt will have a pattern based on its skin.

Alternative shorts and socks will be available for both the home and the away kit.

The Adidas Mexico 2022 home kit was launched on 9 July 2022, whilst we expect the away to drop in August.
