Adidas Orlando Pirates ZKF Heritage Collection
This is the jersey of the new Orlando Pirates Adidas Originals collection.
The new Adidas Orlando Pirates Heritage jersey is a direct remake of the 1997 kit. It appears to use the same materials as the original jersey from more than 20 years ago.
The kit is almost a 1-1 remake of the 1997 jersey
The new Adidas Orlando Pirates Heritage collection features Adidas' Originals logo – the last time the Originals logo was used on-field in SA was in 1997.
The jersey is branded with the logo of the Zodwa Khoza Foundation. The infrastructure development at the ZK Foundation in Diepkloof, Soweto has started with improvements to the ‘clubhouse' and the sports fields. The development is a work in progress and aims to give children in the community better access to sport.
Adidas has committed to investing R5 million (350,000 USD) in the Foundation over the next five years.
As part of the collection, Adidas also released a full tracksuit and a supporters' t-shirt
adidas Originals X Orlando Pirates Football Shirt - 90 Euro
adidas Originals X Orlando Pirates Track Top - 90 Euro
adidas Originals X Orlando Pirates Track Pants Heritage Collection - 70 Euro
adidas Originals X Orlando Pirates Graphic T-Shirt Heritage Collection - 30 Euro
"For the first time, Adidas is publicly highlighting the partnership with the ZK Foundation," says Thandi Merafe, Media Officer, Orlando Pirates Football Club. "Along with other partners, the Foundation aims to train youngsters – boys and girls alike – who show sporting promise."
"In the late ‘90's Zodwa Khoza had the ability to connect with the team, in addition to working with the players she always wanted more for the community and it's this spirit that we are now celebrating. This jersey commemorates Zodwa's big heart," says Merafe.
Bob Maphosa, Football Sports Marketing and PR Manager, Adidas South Africa, says that the jersey is steeped in emotion and history, and takes him right back to 1997 when Orlando Pirates won the Bobsave Superbowl. "This was a major milestone in our fans' incredible journey with the team. Today, the nostalgia is real, but the best part is that together with OP we'll be making a meaningful difference in the lives of our youth."
The new limited edition Originals Pirates jersey retails at 90 Euro. It was launched together with the collection on 22 October 2021.

Eldor Shomurodov Wears Custom Adidas F50 Uzbekistan Flag Boots
During Uzbekistan's 2026 World Cup opener against Colombia, captain Eldor Shomurodov caught the eye with a pair of beautifully customized football boots. FIFA Approves Special Legacy Patch for Muslera at 2026 World Cup
During Uruguay's 2026 World Cup match against Spain, goalkeeper Fernando Muslera took to the pitch wearing a special Legacy Patch on his jersey. This exclusive badge is reserved by FIFA for players who have participated in at least five World Cup tournaments. Muslera's appearance at the 2026 tournament marks his fifth inclusion in a World Cup squad, following his selections for South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, Russia 2018, and Qatar 2022.
The inclusion of the badge was initially in doubt, as Muslera did not play any minutes during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where Sergio Rochet started in goal. However, the Uruguayan Football Association submitted a formal petition to FIFA to recognize his squad selection as a full participation. FIFA officially approved the request, allowing the veteran goalkeeper to sport the Legacy Patch.
