New Norwich City Logo Launched

Update: Norwich have started to use their new club logo originally launched on 24 November 2022. With it, the club also revealed other parts of their new visual identity, including a bespoke typeface.

Norwich had been the Premier League club who last updated their logo before the announcement. They worked with industry-leading agency SomeOne to create the overhaul of the badge.

Compare the old and new Norwich logos below.

The new Norwich City 2022 logo simplifies the previous design and features a redesigned lion, castle and canary, all of which have been redrawn from scratch.

By removing "unnecessary detail", the club and design agency wanted to create a design that renders more strongly in small scale.

In addition to the logo, Norwich also receive a brand-new club-exclusive font and brand revamp.

The new bespoke typeface is called 'Norwich Weave'. Norwich City will have several variations of this font for different use cases.

The Norwich City 2022-23 kits will be the first to feature the new logo, set to be launched shortly after the debut of the new design on June 17th, 2022.

Speaking about the process, executive director Zoe Ward, said: “It is a proud moment for everyone at Norwich City. A lot of hard work, and consultation with supporters, has gone into this project to evolve the club badge. It was important that we kept the traditional elements of the badge, but modernised and evolved it so it was fit for purpose in a digital age and allowed us to get consistency across our stadium and publications.

I would like to thank all those who have worked hard on this project and all the fans and stakeholders who helped us with the consultation process. We are very pleased with the outcome and believe this is an important step for Norwich City going forward.”

First Time in 12 Years: Juventus Bring Back Long-Sleeved Kits on Pitch

Making his Juventus debut in the match against AC Milan, Nick Woltemade was the only Juventus player on the pitch wearing long sleeves. Excluding special-edition kits, the German strike became the first Bianconeri player made this choice since Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio back in the 13-14 season.

Remarkably, even Cristiano Ronaldo, a long-sleeve icon, never wore one during his time in Turin.

Liverpool Could Use a Text-Only Turkish Airlines Sponsor?

Liverpool have announced that Turkish Airlines will become the club's new shirt sponsor from the 2027-28 season, ending the Reds' 17-year partnership with Standard Chartered.

While early fan concepts have used Turkish Airlines' familiar circular bird logo above the wordmark, a text-only sponsor could also be a realistic option.

The airline previously used a simplified two-line “TURKISH AIRLINES” wordmark on River Plate's shirts between 2019 and 2022, while Turkish clubs such as Galatasaray and Samsunspor have also used streamlined typographic versions of the branding.

A text-only layout could give Liverpool's future Adidas shirts a cleaner, less crowded look. The final sponsor application has yet to be confirmed, with the partnership set to begin in June 2027.
