Messi, Mbappe, Donnarumma & More: PSG Players "Choose" Different Numbers in Coupe de France

Last night, PSG played OGC Nice in the Coupe de France, losing on penalties. As we reported recently, the rules of the competition force teams to number their starting 11 players from 1 to 11, with the bench receiving numbers from 12 to 21.

For Paris St. Germain this meant changing quite a few numbers, most notably Messi wore the iconic number 10 shirt.

Only three of PSG's players from last night's starting line-up normally wear a number under 12, most of them wore something different than usual. The squad numbers were applied in the traditional numbering style, depending on positions.
For obvious practical reasons, none of the kits featured the players' names on the back, as the numbers are entirely dependent on them starting the match on the pitch or from the bench.
Donnarumma was seen donning the number 1, an odd sight since the Italian's recent numbers are 50, 99 (Milan), and 21 (for Italy).
Mbappe, who was subbed on late in the match, wore the number 17, as he started on the bench and was not eligible to wear his number 7, which was taken by Ander Herrera.
