AFC Wimbledon Announce Hummel Kit Deal - Hummel to Sign More English Teams?

English League One club AFC Wimbledon this afternoon announced a kit deal with Hummel, beginning with the 22-23 season. Hummel replace Puma, who had been making the team's kits since 2018.
Hummel, the legendary Danish sports company, last had been making Wimbledon's kit from 1988 until 1991.

AFC Wimbledon did not announce the length nor the value of the contract, but we expect it to be valid for around 5 years, similar to Millwall's new Hummel deal.

AFC Wimbledon said that "hummel’s distinctive trademarks - their iconic chevrons and bumblebee - will feature across all their kit and sportswear ranges". Hummel "have worked with the club to design and develop match, training and travel wear across all our men’s, women’s and academy teams, along with a comprehensive retail offering".
Bal Srai, Wimbledon's Revenue, and Operations Manager, said: "The relationship with Hummel is already off to a flying start and we look forward to releasing three new strips this summer which will include a women's cut in the new home and away shirt. This is a partnership that will grow stronger and stronger and we know already we are in good hands!"
Allan Vad Nielsen, hummel CEO, added: “AFC Wimbledon is a club with whom we share a true football heritage and when the chance came to reconnect with them after more than 30 years apart, it was an opportunity that we couldn’t resist."
It is not the first English club deal Hummel announced recently. Hummel will also make the kits of Millwall next season. According to Hummel ambassador and kit aficionado @phildelves, "there's so much more to come...". We think Hummel might sign some further English teams whose contracts are expiring.
