Atlético Madrid 22-23 Home Kit "is the Least Sold in History" - 23-24 Kit Returns to Classic Stripes

Atletico Madrid are struggling with bad merchandising sales, according to a report by Spanish online outlet Confidencial Digital.

Demand For Atletico Madrid 22-23 Home Kit Is Down 40% Compared to Last Year

The demand for the Atlético Madrid home kit is down remarkably from last year. Club sources claim that "sales have fallen by 40% compared to last year's figures". They also admit that "you could see it coming by looking at the reaction of the Colchoneros on social networks".

We doubt it is the least sold kit in history

The headline of the article says that "Atletico Madrid's new jersey is the least sold in history". However, the newspaper does not provide further info on it, e.g. when the statistic began. We are sure that Atletico sold fewer kits in the past, for example in the 1990s, and surely before replica kits became a thing.

The revolutionary curved design of the Nike Atlético Madrid 2022-23 home kit has been unpopular ever since the first images emerged.

The report also says that demand for other gear "is falling in Atlético's online store". The second reason for the low demand would be the new logo launched 5 years ago.

Atlético fans want the club to return to the old logo

A few months ago, Atletico Madrid released a special 75-years anniversary kit with the old crest. It sold out shortly after being on sale in the official store.

However, for the 2023-2024 season, Atlético will return to their classic stripes. This was announced by club CEO and main shareholder, Miguel Ángel Marín, some weeks ago.
