New Juventus Numbers: Paul Pogba 10, Di Maria 22
Paul Pogba is back at Juventus and back in his old number 10 shirt after a six year absence.
Pogba to Wear 10, Di Maria 22
Pogba has signed for Juventus on a free transfer from Manchester United for the second time, ten years after he initially joined them. After what many consider to be six wasted years at Manchester united, where he wore the number 6 jersey, he will play the 22-23 season (and likely beyond) with the iconic number 10 on the back of his Bianconeri shirt.
When he first signed for Juventus in 2012, the Frenchman was given the number 6 jersey, before switching to 10 when the opportunity arose in 2015 after the departure of Carlos Tevez. The following year he moved to United for €100 million and was once again handed the number 6, which is also his regular number for France.
Players to have donned the 10 for Juve include Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Baggio, Liam Brady and Michel Platini, while Paolo Dybala took up the mantle in Pogba's absence before leaving himself this summer.
Fellow new signing Angel Di Maria is the club's new number 22, freed up by Federico Chiesa who switched to number 7. That number, in turn, belonged to Dusan Vlahovic last season, but he has picked up the number 9 shirt from the departed Alvaro Morata.
