Chelsea 22-23 Squad Numbers Announced
Chelsea Football Club is experiencing a very turbulent transfer window after already losing out on several targets like Raphinha or Jules Koundé, but the English giants are still determined to close gaps in the squad.
Interestingly, Chelsea was sold to a consortium led by LA Dodgers owner Todd Boehly before this season for £4.25bn. Chelsea is not owned by club members but foreign investors, who could be looking to spend over €300m this transfer window to reinforce the defense. Let us take a closer look.
Chelsea FC 2022-2023 Squad Numbers
As Chelsea announced a few days ago, Kalidou Koulibaly gets shirt number 26. Shirt number 26 was also worn by Chelsea legend John Terry from 1998 until 2017.
In other news, former Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling will wear shirt number 17. This shirt number was worn by many players already such as Mo Solah, Pedro or Eden Hazard. Carney Chukwuemeka receives shirt number 30.
On top of these three new signings Chelsea just announced Marc Cucurella for a record transfer fee of £55m + £7m in add-ons. Cucurella's shirt number will be 32.
Interestingly, Chelsea still wants to spend more money on new signings like Wesley Fofana, who would have to become the most expensive centre back of all time since Leicester City demands a transfer fee in excess of €100m.
All in all, the list of Chelsea 22-23 squad numbers is preliminary at this moment, and a lot of changes could still happen this month. We will have to wait and see how the Chelsea squad looks like once the transfer window closes in early September.

MLS Players Wear Their National Flags on Kits Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Major League Soccer last weekend hosted a dedicated "Farewell Week" to send off its international stars. To mark the occasion, all clubs across the domestic league took to the pitch wearing specially customized kits that honored the various nations represented within their squads.
The most prominent visual update to the MLS uniforms was the addition of official national flags printed directly on the chest for all players and coaching staff. In a highly thoughtful and personalized touch, the league provided specialized double-flag variations for athletes holding dual citizenship. This bespoke detail allowed these specific players to proudly represent both their current homelands and their heritage simultaneously before joining their respective national team camps.
Beyond the chest graphics, teams also sported a unique set of squad numbers on the back of their shirts, featuring a custom pattern made up of the flags of all 48 countries participating in this summer's World Cup.
What do you think of this customized flag concept for the MLS World Cup Farewell Week? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
