Containers Full of Adidas 22-23 Leeds Kits Lost at Sea
Leeds United are one of many clubs affected by supply chain issues causing delays of kit deliveries. Things have gone from bad to worse for them, as a container shipment full of their new away kits was lost at sea on its way to England.
Leeds Kits Lost at Sea
Knock-on effects from COVID outbreaks in Asia are still causing problems for kit manufacturers and football clubs, as there is a shortage of ships and scheduling difficulties at ports meaning that the deliveries of new season kits have been delayed. As a shipment of Leeds kits finally got on its way to the club, disaster struck and the containers plunged into the sea.
Leeds released their striking new away kit last week to much approval, but apparently they have only received 10,000 units to sell to fans. They usually sell around 300,000 kits, so these ongoing delays will surely affect their sales numbers this year.
Bad news for Adidas, Leeds and their fans, but potentially good news for some lucky beach-goers who may stumble upon a container full of free football shirts washed ashore in the coming months.
