FC Barcelona to Change Logo?
La Liga giants FC Barcelona could change their logo soon, it is reported by Catalan journalist Carles Aguilar Catalán (@charlyplanter).
FC Barcelona Could "Recover Idea of Changing Crest"
Below is the current FC Barcelona crest.
"Barça could soon recover the idea of changing their crest", according to the journalist. He also admits that he "does not know if it's advanced or not".
There is no further info on how a new FC Barcelona logo could look, but their is a recent history of the club trying to change their crest.
Will Barça ditch the FCB for the full team name?
In 2018, FC Barcelona presented a modernized version of the current crest. However, Barça fans were not happy with it, so the club withdrew it one day before members should have voted on it.
The new FC Barcelona logo won't be an altered version of the 2018 edition but likely a bigger rebrand.
Barcelona's crest has been updated very often in the club's history. The last time the logo was updated was 20 years ago.
Possible New FC Barcelona Logo - Our Verdict
The current FC Barcelona logo is surely not bad, but it also has some elements that we believe the club would like to change. This includes the acronym FCB, which is also used by FC Bayern München.
We expect the club to present the members with a new crest proposal in 2023, and that a new crest would become effective from the 2024-25 season and not for the 2023-24 season.
