France 2022 World Cup Shirt Numbers Announced
France have joined England and Germany in announcing their list of World Cup squad numbers.
France World Cup Shirt Numbers Announced
As is the case with many national teams, there are a number of players in the France squad who have established themselves as key men and made a number their own. Raphael Varane (4), Lucas Hernandez (21) and brother Théo (22), Antoine Griezmann (7) and Olivier Giroud (9) fit into this category and Paul Pogba, Presnel Kimpembe and N'Golo Kanté would also be amongst them if it wasn't for injuries.
Instead, Axel Disasi gets Kimpembe's usual number 3, Jules Koundé will wear 5 in Kanté's absence and Matteo Guendouzi will take Pogba's number 6 shirt. Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema receives the same number 19 jersey that he wore at last year's Euros on his return from a 6 year international hiatus.
Konaté, Camavinga and Thuram will be France's first wearers of the numbers 24, 25 and 26 respectively, while the in-form Christopher Nkunku gets the number 12 most commonly associated with Thierry Henry. Check out the full list below.

Adidas Teases Predator 1994 to 2026 World Cup Connection
Adidas has officially teased a connection between the original 1994 Predator boot and the upcoming 2026 World Cup. In a recent social media update, the brand highlighted the legacy of the iconic Predator silo, which was initially launched for the 1994 tournament hosted in the USA.
With the 2026 World Cup set to be co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada, Adidas is celebrating this 32-year journey as a full-circle moment for the boot. The brand noted that the Predator was made for the 1994 World Cup, and the tournament made the boot a legend. By stating that the road to glory continues, Adidas strongly suggests the upcoming release of special edition boots or a dedicated 2026 World Cup Predator model that pays homage to the 1994 original.
The teaser was accompanied by images showcasing the evolution of the Predator boot from its debut to its modern iteration. This announcement builds on recent Predator re-releases and limited editions, generating anticipation for what Adidas has planned for the 2026 tournament.
