1. Reason: Adidas Apparently Did Not Produce Enough Mexico Away Kits For Demand
First, Adidas did apparently did not produce enough Mexico away kits for the (extremely) high demand. Some sizes of the away kit are also sold out in Mexico. Meanwhile, the home kit is available in all sizes.
2. Reason: Adidas Did Not Expect Away Kit to Be So Popular Outside Mexico at All
For people outside Mexico, the problem is much, much bigger. Adidas did not send out nearly as many away jerseys as needed, both to independent retailers and their own warehouses. The demand outside Mexico is much higher than the supply.
3. (Not Confirmed) Reason: Less Profit - Production & Delivery of Mexico Kit Not as Cheap as From South East Asia
For us, it is likely that a third reason exists. Adidas did plan more conservatively with Mexico's kits than with others. The production in Mexico is surely more expensive than in South East Asia, so Adidas make less profit with the kit. If they would have produced way too many, it would be a sure money loss - Adidas only make money with the kit at prices close to the recommended retail price.
This is also supported by the fact that the similarly popular Japan 2022 kits are available everywhere.
There are restocks coming in November & December 2022
Meanwhile, the Mexico home kit is easily available to get. This is a clear indicator that Mexico's away kit is super popular and that Adidas did not expect enormous success.
We also checked if any independent retailers are selling the Mexico 2022 World Cup away kit. Outside Mexico, there is none.

However, there appears to be a chance that you can get your hands on the Mexico 2022 World Cup away kit, at least if you are living in Europe. Adidas say that the kit will be available Friday, November 18. The bad news is that this gives no certainty. In the past, a similar message appeared, but it never went on sale.
There is an indicator that there will be a huge restock in late December 2022. Soccer.com say that "the item is still in transit to their warehouse". You can Backorder the kit for "LATE DECEMBER".

However, the Mexico 2022 World Cup away kit is even harder to get than Nigeria's was - at least as of today.
