Better Than Nike? Special-edition Portuguesa 'Portugal' Kit Revealed
Brazilian club Portuguesa yesterday presented a new kit inspired by Portugal and made by their own in-house brand 1920.
Similar to the recent Portugal-inspired shirts by CR Vasco da Gama, the new Portuguesa jersey offers a much more traditional design than the actual Portugal 2022 World Cup kit.
Portuguesa 2022 'Portugal' Kit
This is the Portuguesa 'Portugal' jersey, made by 1920.
The 1920 Portuguesa 'Portugal' shirt pays tribute to the Portuguese community in Brazil. Predominantly red, it features not just the traditional Portugal home shirt color but also a subtle map of the country as well as a faint wave pattern inspired by Portugal's "great maritime discoveries".
The flags of Brazil and Portugal sit on the upper back of the 1920 Portuguesa 'Portugal' jersey.
The Portuguesa 'Portugal' strip will be available from Saturday, November 19th, 2022, retailing at R$180 (€32; members pay R$150 - €27).
Made by 1920. What do you make of the Portuguesa's 'Portugal' jersey? Comment below.
