Agreement Reached: Manchester United and TeamViewer to End Kit Sponsor Deal
TeamViewer could soon be history on the front of Manchester United's kit. Both parties have reached an agreement that allows to dissolve the main sponsorship contract.
TeamViewer, a German company for remote support systems that profited from the COVID-19 crisis, became Manchester United's main sponsor for the 2021-22 season, replacing Chevrolet. The contract negotiated at the time was for a five-year partnership and was expected to bring in 275 million Euro for Manchester United.
TeamViewer and Manchester United Rech Agreement to Dissolve Main Sponsorship Contract
After confidential talks over the past few months, both parties have reached a mutually-beneficial agreement for the end of the deal. Manchester United can buy back the rights to the main jersey sponsorship and look for a new main sponsor, TeamViewer announced late Thursday night.
TeamViewer "would exit this role as quickly as possible"
The agreement was accompanied by the expectation that the Goeppingen-based company would exit this role as quickly as possible, the MDax company said.
TeamViewer’s financial commitments to Manchester United remain unchanged whilst they remain the club’s shirt front partner, after which their financial commitments will reflect their status as a global partner.
This should reduce the cost burden from the Man United sponsorship at the specialist for remote maintenance software to a single-digit million US dollar amount and thus significantly increase profitability. Teamviewer shares rose almost 9 percent in after-hours.

2026 World Cup Teams Use Different Sleeves for New Debutant Patch
For the 2026 World Cup, FIFA has introduced a special 'Debut Patch' to be worn by players making their first appearance in the tournament, but the placement of this new badge varies between national teams. Mexico has positioned the debutant patch on the left sleeve of their kits, whereas South Africa has opted to place it on the right sleeve. This new addition for the competition allows federations flexibility in integrating the debutant patch alongside other official tournament sleeve badges.
