Update: Our source has told us that Puma's decision to ditch the Ultraweave kit template has been not finally settled. Meanwhile, Brazilian club Palmeriras already released their 2023-2024 home and away kits. None of the three versions offered features Ultraweave.

For the first time, Puma and Palmeiras bring to the market three different versions of the shirts: Player, Replica, and Fan, which have different details, technologies, and finishes to meet the different expectations of fans.
Palmeriras did also use Drycell for last season's authentic kits
The Palmeriras 23-24 home and away Player jerseys feature Jacquard fabric, PUMA's TPU shield, star, and logo. Most interestingly, however, is that the Player kit(s) use Puma's dryCELL technology for maximum moisture absorption. This has been already the case with Palmeriras' 22-23 kits.
When comparing the fabric of the Puma Ultraweave kit with the Palmeriras 23-24 home kit, several differences become visible. What is also interesting are the richer 3D logos of the Palmeriras 23-24 kit, which look much nicer than the super-thin Ultraweave logos.
The Fan and Stadium models have more attractive prices for the consumer, with small changes in fabric and finishing. The Replica version has Pollen fabric, shield, star, and Puma logo in water-based and dryCELL technology, while the Stadium version has a Citrine fabric, shield, star, and PUMA logo in water-based and dryCELL technology.

Puma, one of the leading sportswear brands, are set to drop their revolutionary Ultraweave technology due to player complaints.
The Puma Ultraweave technology was introduced in Fall of 2021 and is being used since the current 2022-23 season by all Puma top teams. The Ultraweave kit is one of the lighter-ever football kits ever released at a weight of just 72 grams.
The Puma Ultraweave technology was meant to provide maximum breathability and a lightweight feel to the players. However, it seems that the Ultraweave technology has failed to live up to expectations.
Puma Ultraweave Kit Technology Causing Problems For Players in Cold Weather
We have been told that many players are complaining about feeling cold during winter matches. We have no info on which players and teams complained about the Ultraweave kits, but it was surely not one or two - Puma already decided to ditch the technology.

Most players currently wear undershirts with Puma kits, but this is nothing limited to the kits of Puma. Instead, there seems to be no major difference in undershirts used between Adidas, Nike, and Puma-sponsored teams.
It seems probable that the players' complaints were not limited to cold weather conditions. Some players surely felt too hot during matches played in Qatar.
Puma to Return to Drycell Kit Technology For All Teams
Puma have now decided to drop the Ultraweave technology and will be using the well-known Drycell technology again next season. The Drycell technology is a combination of moisture-wicking and ventilation materials that have been used by Puma in the past.
The decision to drop the Ultraweave technology is a major blow for Puma, as the brand surely had invested a lot of money and resources in developing and promoting the new technology. However, Puma's decision to listen to the players' complaints and make the necessary changes shows that the brand are committed to providing the best possible products for their athletes.
