Barcelona to Sign First-Ever Shorts Sponsor Deal?
Barcelona could be getting a sponsor on their shorts for next season as the club are currently exploring the potential of acquiring it.
Barcelona Could Follow Mallorca and Espanyol's Footstep
In the midst of trying to improve their financial situation, the Blaugrana are reportedly exploring ways to add more sponsors including one on their shorts.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barca are still studying the potential of including a sponsor to be placed in their shorts. It’s certainly not something that the Blaugrana have done before in the past but it's not uncommon in La Liga.
There are teams like Real Mallorca and Espanyol that have included sponsors' logos in their match shorts. Mallorca had a road-bike brand, Specialized in its shorts while the Blanquiazules collaborated with Gro and Crypto Snacks.
Barcelona are considering the idea as they have been receiving several sponsor proposals and some are open to the idea of getting their name in the Catalan outfit's shorts. There’s still no agreement for now, but should that happen the most possible area where they can add the sponsor is on the rear part. Although placing a sponsor on the back side can be an issue as the logo might not be too visible at times because of the location, it's the likeliest option.
It’s difficult to see Barca putting on a sponsor name in front of its shorts considering they already placed the club’s crest and Nike logo there. However, if both parties can come up with an agreement, there’s always a possibility, just like with Espanyol and Gro in the 2021/22 season.
Barca Could Earn More than €5m for Shorts Sponsor
If Blaugrana do agree to get a shorts sponsor deal they could potentially earn more than €5m per season from it. At the moment, Barcelona have Spotify as their main shirt sponsor and stadium naming rights, which gives them a potential earning of €240m over four seasons.
However, there’s still no confirmation about the potential companies that might put their name on Barca’s shorts as any talks are still at an early stage.
At the moment, Barcelona are still focusing on completing a sleeve sponsor deal with the Dutch company, Philipps. The Electronic-manufacturer are willing to pay €2m or €3m for the rest of this season and improve it to around €8 to €9m from next season.

MLS Players Wear Their National Flags on Kits Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Major League Soccer last weekend hosted a dedicated "Farewell Week" to send off its international stars. To mark the occasion, all clubs across the domestic league took to the pitch wearing specially customized kits that honored the various nations represented within their squads.
The most prominent visual update to the MLS uniforms was the addition of official national flags printed directly on the chest for all players and coaching staff. In a highly thoughtful and personalized touch, the league provided specialized double-flag variations for athletes holding dual citizenship. This bespoke detail allowed these specific players to proudly represent both their current homelands and their heritage simultaneously before joining their respective national team camps.
Beyond the chest graphics, teams also sported a unique set of squad numbers on the back of their shirts, featuring a custom pattern made up of the flags of all 48 countries participating in this summer's World Cup.
What do you think of this customized flag concept for the MLS World Cup Farewell Week? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
