Manchester United and Newcastle had noticeably more text printed on their shirts than usual for the occasion of the Carabao Cup final.

Most Cup Final Text Ever?

It's common practice for teams to play a cup final with special embroidery on their shirts to commemorate the occasion. Usually, two or three lines is enough to fit in some combination of the name of the event, the teams participating, the date and the venue.

Other examples of cup final embroidery.

On Manchester United and Newcastle's shirts for today's Carabao Cup final, all of that information was included in its fullest form, taking up five full lines, six of you include the "v" in the middle. This type of text is always notable and a nice way to mark such historic matches for the clubs and players involved, although usually it's not quite as eye-catching as this instance.

Although both teams' had the same amount of writing on their shirts, Newcastle's stripes and the choice of blue text to match the logos allowed their text to blend in somewhat. Certainly more so than the gold text on United's all red background.

What do you think? Should they cut down on the amount of text? Is this the most you've ever seen on a shirt? Let us know in the comments.
