River Plate 2023 Historical Kit

The Adidas River Plate historical kit closely follows the 1905 jersey.

The Adidas River 2023 historical jersey is a lifestyle football kit evoking the look of the iconic River Plate sash kit.

The new Adidas River Plate Historical shirt is very close to the 1905 jersey. This includes the collar and also the buttons to close the shirt. Adidas adds a monochrome Adidas Sportswear logo on the right chest.

River Plate first wore the jersey with the mythical diagonal red stripe in 1905 and after promotion to the first division in 1909 it was mysteriously discontinued. It should take until 1932 for River Plate to return to the now iconic Sash.

The white and red of the Club Atlético River Plate jersey, as well as the Sash, correspond to the flag of Genoa or the coat of arms of the Italian city. These insignia share the same design: in front of a white background is the Cross of St. George.
