Deportivo FAS New 2023 Kit is Identical to CSKA Moscow's 2021-22 Jersey

El Salvador outfit Club Deportivo FAS released their new kit for the 2023 Clausura season a couple days ago and it caught plenty of attention. The shirt attracts interest not necessarily because it has a unique design but more due to its striking similarity with CSKA Moscow’s 2021-22 home kit.

Deportivo FAS’s new jersey is set in a vertical gradient that goes from blue to red which is basically the same as CSKA’s 2021-22 season design, though the Russian side visually looks to have a slightly darker blue-red color combination. The are some small differences between both teams' kits notably on the club’s crest, collar style, and sponsor logos, along with the choice of colors for shorts.

Deportivo FAS opt to use white shorts to complete their new kit look, while CSKA’s home jersey got red-colored ones instead. On the pitch, it does create a slightly different vibe, though that still won’t escape the similarity. As for the collars, El Rojo has a more round collar while the Red-Blues squad opted for a V-neck type.

Both Kits Have Joma as Its Manufacturer

One of the main reasons why both jerseys look very similar would be because they come from the same manufacturer, Joma. However, the Spanish-based manufacturer have cut their ties with the CSKA and other Russian clubs due to the recent war between Russia and Ukraine.

So, technically, Joma can simply use the Red-Blues’ previous kit template and give it to another team, which in this case happens to be the Deportivo FAS. Although it’s probably not a popular move in the eyes of some of The King of Cups’ fans on social media, the team doesn’t mind it that much.

Moreover, considering that Deportivo FAS’ main color has always been blue and red, the current combination still maintains that tradition. El Rojo have debuted their new kit during their latest Salvadoran Primer Division Clausura clash against Once Deportivo which ended in a goalless draw.
