Lyon Player Spotted With Unreleased Adidas 23-24 Product?

This week, Olympique Lyon uploaded an interesting video featuring 20-year old youngster Castello Lukeba wearing what looks like an unreleased Adidas 23-24 product at first glance. Let us get a closer look and find out what it is.

The gear worn by Lukeba features the new Adidas logo indicating that it is from the 2023-2024 season. However, while we and the fans first thought it would be an unwanted look at the first Lyon 23-24 stuff, it was not.

A day later, on 9 March 2023, Lyon launched the jacket worn by Lukeba and other gear on their official website. It is called the Adidas Lyon "Sand" collection. It is the first time that a European team get gear with the new Adidas logo.

We have no info if the Adidas Lyon 2023 Sand collection was originally supposed to be released for the 2023-2024 season. It is important to note that Lyon is by far Adidas' most important football club in France. They probably get more stuff than all other clubs in Europe - they have received at least four different training collections from Adidas for the 22-23 season.

Interestingly, a hoodie with the same logo style as the one worn by the questioner in the video was worn by new Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden at the Annual Press Conference for the Fiscal Reports this week.

The Adidas Lyon 2023 sand collection is based on the same template as the Adidas 2022 World Cup gear and the Adidas 23-24 training jerseys.

The Adidas Olympique Lyonnais 2023 sand football collection was released on March 9 and is available to buy via the club's official website.

Lyon won't get a kit with the design - the Sand collection just is a special collection for the rest of the 2023 season.
