Adidas bring back the fold-over tongue
Adidas Predator 2024 - Name
The next-generation Adidas Predator 2024 football boots are just called "Predator". There is no extra name, in contrast to previous years (e.g. Edge, Accuracy, Freak).
There is also a change in the naming of the different versions of the cleats. The top models of the Adidas Predator 2024 football boots are called "Predator+" (likely combined with Elite ▶ "Predator+ Elite", while the takedowns are not numbered anymore (e.g. .2 for the second-tier model, .4 for the cheapest). Instead, they get special names (League, Club). This is very similar to Nike.
Adidas Predator 2024 - Launch Colorway
30 years after the first launch of the Predator, the launch colorway for the 2024 Predator boots is black, white, and red, the most iconic colorway of the silo. Officially, the colors are "Black/White/Solar Red".
Adidas Predator 2024 - Tech Features
The possibly most exciting feature that has been confirmed for the next-gen Predator boots is the return of the foldover tongue. This time, it is made of synthetic suede material that provides a soft haptic, and a tongue strap for additional lockdown. The foldover tongue is a hallmark of the Predator series, which was launched 30 years ago, in 1994.
It remains to be seen how the tongue will be integrated into the boots.
In terms of the upper, the next-gen Adidas Predator boots will feature the brand-new Strikeskin technology. Rubber fins have been strategically placed in the striking area for increased grip and precise shot-making, making it easier for players to control the ball and make accurate shots.
In terms of the outsole, the next-generation Adidas Predator 2024 boots are equipped with a Controlframe 2.0 outsole, a lightweight full-length tooling with an external heel counter for dynamic traction and stability.
