Nike Liverpool 22-23 vs 23-24 Home Kits
Update: It is hardly visible on the official product pictures, but the red color ("University Red") of the new LFC 23-24 home kit is brighter than the red color ("Tough Red") of the LFC 22-23 home kit. Liverpool kit collector @DagnallJames has created a side-by-side image that clearly shows the difference in color.
Liverpool FC's new home kit for the 2023-2024 season has been unveiled by Nike, but fans are questioning the design's similarity to the previous season's kit.
Nike teams could keep the home kit for two years in the future
Nike Liverpool 2022-2023 vs 2023-2024 Home Kits
The two kits are almost identical, except for the collar and sleeve cuffs which are now white, and the sleeve sponsor. Although the knit pattern has changed, all logos, including the swoosh and LFC crest, remain identical.
Other elements like the Nike authentic badge have been minimally changed, while the Nike Dri-Fit ADV logo is also identical.
Tough Red vs University Red
The shades of red are also slightly different. "Tough Red" of the 22-23 kit is lighter and less saturated than the 23-24 "University Red".
This lack of innovation has led to criticism on social media, with some fans expressing disappointment that Nike did not take more risks as they did in their first two years as LFC's kit supplier.
"Liverpool next season, and Liverpool this season. Another grueling day for the Nike designer..." (by @KitCrimes)
However, it appears that the club Liverpool, not Nike, are the ones interested in having classic home kits. Nike's upcoming 23-24 home kits for teams such as Inter, Barcelona, and PSG are far from basic and differ significantly from the 22-23 kits.
There have been rumors circulating that Nike teams may use their home kits for more than one season going forward. Nonetheless, despite these rumors surfacing a year ago, no additional information has been disclosed yet.
However, others have defended the kit, noting that the design is still classic and timeless and that it will look great on the pitch.
We expect Nike to launch an all-new football template in 2024, which will be debuted in the Euro 2024 and also be used in the 2024 Olympics and the 24-25 season.
Should Nike and Liverpool have kept last season's home kit or at least have made some bigger changes? Let us know in the comments below.

Kylian Mbappe will wear a special insignia on his France kit to commemorate his achievement as the top scorer of the 2022 World Cup. Following his Golden Boot win in Qatar, where he scored eight goals, the French captain's jersey now features a dedicated patch recognizing this individual accolade.
This addition comes as part of a wider trend of specialized badges seen on national team kits during the 2026 World Cup. Alongside standard tournament patches, various players have been spotted wearing insignias denoting their debut or legacy status.
