A total of 61,021 members participated in the consultation, representing 44% of the club's total membership. The question posed to the members was whether the club should consider the possibility of reverting to the previous shield.

Atletico Madrid's CEO pledged to implement the change promptly. However, he acknowledged the need to respect existing sponsorship and licensing agreements.

Atletico's 24-25 kits will certainly be the first with the new logo

The Atletico Madrid 2023-2024 kits will, of course, keep the "new" logo. Footy Headlines strongly expect the Atletico Madrid 2024-2025 kits to be the first with the "old" new logo.

The consultation, although not structured as a referendum, was seen as a triumph by Atletico Madrid fans who championed the return to the shield used by the club from 1947 until 2016. The club's players, legends, and even coach Diego Simeone actively supported the initiative on social media, expressing their love for the old emblem.

The decision to seek member input on the crest signifies a shift in Atletico Madrid's approach, acknowledging the importance of considering the sentiments and preferences of their social mass. While the club operate as a Sociedad Anónima Deportiva without a formal membership structure, it have recognized the significance of engaging with their supporters in recent years.
