Gündoğan Shirt Number History - 22, 8 & Again 22
Originally, Barcelona offered and wanted Gündoğan to wear the No. 5 of Busquests, but Gündoğan decided differently. In pre-season, Gündoğan wore the number 14.
Barcelona have announced the signing of Ilkay Gundogan, who will be joining the team as a free transfer. However, there is still the question of what number he will wear on his jersey. Thanks to Barca Universal for the information about the free numbers.
Seven Number Options Available For Gündogan Currently
There are only seven options available for Ilkay Gündogan currently. His shirt numbers for Manchester City and Germany, No. 8 and No. 21, are already taken.
LaLiga do not allow pro players to wear numbers above 25
Since Pedri or Frenkie de Jong are unlikely to give up their numbers, Gundogan will have to choose from Numbers 2, 3, 5, 12, 14, 16, and 18. While there are several options, some of them are usually associated with defenders, leaving the No. 5 kit, recently vacated by Sergio Busquets, as a standout option.
Alternatively, the No. 18, which was previously worn by Jordi Alba, also has a rich history with the club.

Neymar to Retain Brazil No. 10 Shirt for 2026 World Cup
The debate over Brazil’s most iconic shirt number has been officially settled ahead of the 2026 World Cup. It has been confirmed that Neymar will retain the famous No. 10 jersey for the upcoming tournament in North America.
Following a lengthy period away from the national team due to injury, questions had naturally arisen regarding the future of the prestigious shirt. During Neymar's prolonged absence, the Brazilian No. 10 was shared among the squad's other attacking stars. Both Vinicius Junior and Raphinha have donned the historic number in recent international fixtures.
Despite their growing influence and status within the Seleção, both players have willingly stepped aside out of respect for the veteran forward. Highlighting the squad's unity on the matter, Vinicius Junior openly addressed the situation, stating clearly that the shirt "obviously belongs to Neymar."
Earlier rumors suggested that Neymar might adopt the No. 13 jersey.
Do you agree with the decision to keep Neymar in the No. 10 shirt, or was it time to pass it on to a younger player like Vinicius Junior? Let us know in the comments below.

Liverpool 26-27 Home Kit Water Bottle Released
The official Liverpool FC online store has released an interesting "LFC 26/27 Home Water Bottle".
The design of the water bottle mirrors the home kit. The front of the bottle also displays the Liverbird crest and the current Standard Chartered sponsor logo - however, it lacks the Adidas logo and looks very offset. They should have placed logos differently...
The text "Liverpool FC 26-27" is printed on the bottle in the new official Liverpool font.
