Footy Headlines Launch New Ranking System For Kit Awards - Here Is How the Best Kit Will Be Decided
- New Ranking System: Footy Headlines is introducing a new ranking system for football kit awards, combining fan votes, Football Kit Archive ratings, and a Footy Headlines panel.
- Weighting of Parameters: The ranking system assigns 50% weight to Footy Headlines user votes, 25% to Football Kit Archive ratings, and 25% to the Footy Headlines panel.
- Point Calculation: Each parameter ranks kits and awards points, with the highest-ranked kit receiving maximum points and the lowest-ranked kit receiving one point, with a total possible maximum score of 100.
We are excited to announce a new ranking system for determining the best football kit of the ninth and year. Footy Headlines' readers' fan votes will still play a crucial role, but we introduce two additional parameters to make the selection process more comprehensive and fair.
New Footy Headlines Ranking System
The new Footy Headlines Kit Award ranking system is built on three parameters - the classic votes of the Kit of the Month/Year award on Footy Headlines, the ratings on the renowned site Football Kit Archive, and a panel of the Footy Headlines team.
June 2023 Kit of the Month Pre-Selection - Vote to Be Started Soon
50% - Votes of Footy Headlines Users
Firstly, the number of votes received will contribute to the final ranking. The kit with the highest number of fan votes will receive the maximum number of points, while the kit with the fewest votes will receive only one point.
In our soon-to-be-started June 2023 Kit of the Month Vote, 25 kits are in our pre-selection. The kit with the most votes will get 25 points, and the kit with the least will get 1 point.
25% - Ratings on Football Kit Archive
Secondly, we will consider the rating given by users on Football Kit Archive. Kits are rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, and the kit with the highest average rating will be awarded the maximum number of points, while the lowest-rated kit will receive one point.
The kit with the best rating on Football Kit Archive will get 25 points; those with the least will get 1 point.
25% - Footy Headlines Panel
Lastly, we will include the ranking of the Footy Headlines team. A number of our teams will rank each kit independently, and then we will make a combined ranking. Like in the other elements of the ranking, the favorite kit will receive the maximum points (25 in our example), and the least favorite receiving 1 point.
Final Winner - Kit With Most Points Combined
We will determine the overall points for each kit by combining these three rankings, but we want the votes of Footy Headlines users to count the most. Therefore, the points of the public vote on Footy Headlines are doubled before all are combined. The kit with the highest total points will be crowned the best football kit of the month/year.
The maximum number a kit can reach is 100 for June 2023
In our June 2023 Kit of the Month vote (25 pre-selected kits), the maximum number a kit can reach is 100. Footy Headlines Vote - 50 (25x2) + Football Kit Archive Rating (25) + Footy Headlines Panel (25).
we are considering establishing an independent panel of popular kit accounts
In the future, we are considering establishing an independent panel of popular kit accounts to diversify further the perspectives and opinions involved in the ranking process.
We look forward to continuing to engage with the fans and celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship behind football kits.
