Osnabrück Announce Capelli Kit Deal - Club Could Sue Umbro For Failing to Deliver New Kits

VfL Osnabrück, who will be back in Bundesliga next season, have partnered with Capelli Sport as their new kit supplier starting from the 2023-24 season.
In a test match against Sportfreunde Lotte, Capelli Sport provided emergency jerseys and equipment for VfL. This design will become the Osnabrück 23-24 third kit.
But why did Osnabrück not continue with Umbro? Earlier reports stated that the club were facing potential legal action against their previous kit supplier. Umbro allegedly failed to deliver the new kits and team staff for the current season, despite announcing a long-term relationship with VfL Osnabrück just last season.
Despite the short notice, Capelli Sport and Osnabrück are working towards creating two individually designed jerseys for the upcoming season.
"We are very happy that we were able to reach an agreement with Capelli Sport in a very short time, also thanks to the support of marketer Infront. The talks were goal-oriented and constructive. The colleagues there rolled up their sleeves straight away in order to be able to deliver our new jersey variants for the upcoming second league season in Osnabrück in time for the start of the league," said VfL Managing Director Dr. Michael Welling.
Kay Mourheg, President Europe at Capelli Sport, said: "The possibility of being able to act at such short notice and help VfL in its emergency situation is largely thanks to our vertical integration, which is unique in the team sports market. Here, the first design ideas, for which we were able to draw on the concrete ideas of VfL, the production and delivery form a continuous process, which we at Capelli Sport serve from a single source. I am looking forward to seeing VfL Osnabrück soon wearing their new Capelli Sport jerseys."

German club VfL Osnabrück have unveiled a special kit for their DFB-Pokal first-round clash against FC Bayern Munich. Completing the look, the special edition kit is paired with matching white shorts and socks accented by purple detailing. The kit will be worn exclusively during the home cup tie against Bayern Munich at the Bremer Brücke and is available through the club's official retail channels.

Vietnamese V.League 1 side Hanoi FC and Adidas have unveiled the first kits from their new partnership, with the design immediately sparking discussion over its unusual short Three Stripes layout across the shoulders.
The shirt uses a new Adidas template with short 3-Stripes on the shoulders and a classic crew neck, a design primarily seen on takedown jersey (fan version). The same template is also used by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1, including the team's latest “Vanda Bloom” collection. The purple colourway closely matches Hanoi FC's traditional identity.
The shirt uses a mixed construction: the body features standard Adidas Climacool fabric, while the sleeves use Player-version material.
