Manchester City to wear FIFA World Champions 2023 badge in All Remaining 2023-24 Premier League & Champions League Matches
The decision to allow Manchester City to wear the badge in all Premier League matches comes as a little surprise. Previously, the Premier League only allowed teams to wear the badge in a single match, and before that, teams were not allowed to wear the gold badge at all. This is most likely due to a change in the league's official equipment regulations, although no change in the rules has been announced.
However, already in the 2021-22 season, Chelsea got the green light to wear the gold badge in multiple games towards the end of the 2021-22 campaign. Now Manchester City get the green light to wear it in all remaining matches of the current season.
We don't expect Manchester City to wear the badge in the 2023-24 season
It remains to be seen if Manchester City will wear the gold patch in the 2024-25 season. We do not expect them to do so in the 24-25 Premier League.
The FIFA Club World Cup Winners' Badge can be purchased from the official Manchester City online store. Fans can bundle the badge with a Premier League or Champions League sleeve badge for £14, or purchase the badge in-store with their shirt.
Manchester City will debut the badge at their league match against Everton on December 27th.
