Looking at the Nike Mercurial 2024 prototype boots, it seems that Nike will no longer use the famous Flyknit technology but will switch to the Gripknit technology from the Phantom GX boots.
Update: In a big event in Paris ahead of the 2024 Olympics, Nike has revealed the first pictures, tech info, and release date of the next-gen Mercurial 2024 soccer boots (Vapor 16/Superfly 10). The first Mercurial 2024 boots are part of the Nike Blueprint collection, to be launched on Wednesday, 3 July 2024.
In addition to the next-generation Nike Mercurial 2024 football boots, the Nike 'Blueprint' 2024 collection also includes all of Nike's core silos: Alphafly 3, Mercurial Superfly, Pegasus 41, Pegasus 41 EasyOn, G.T. Hustle 3 and Air Zoom Maxfly 2, all of which pay tribute to the Swoosh's iconic "AIR ZOOM" technology.

The next-gen Nike Mercurial 2024 boots have a new design with a small zig-zag embossed upper - the big 'AIR' on the heel has been slightly changed from the Vapor 15. The big Swoosh is similar to the Nike Mercurial Vapor 11.
For the launch colorway ("Blueprint Pack"), Nike combines two shades of blue - Glacier Blue / Blue Orbit. The sole plate has a stunning metallic design.
The Blueprint Pack itself draws inspiration from Bill Bowerman, a co-founder of the company, and his unwavering commitment to enhancing athletic performance. Bowerman was so dedicated to optimization that he would use a ballpoint pen to mark a dot in the shape of a Swoosh on the side of his athletes' spikes to reduce the weight from stitching on a logo. Nike's designers created a typography based on the actual notes in his sketchbooks for the Nike Blueprint Pack.

The Flyknit upper is almost 30% thinner
By removing flex grooves from the Air Zoom strobel unit and introducing speed fins to the forefoot, the boot's plate flexibility is finely tuned, ensuring optimal energy return with each stride. According to Nike, the boot gives 10 percent more energy return in each step compared to the previous generation.
Nike has meticulously crafted the fit of the boot, reducing the thickness of the Flyknit upper by nearly 30%, resulting in a more conforming and sculpted feel that closely mimics the natural contours of the foot.
When being directly compared to the previous generation, it is easy to see that the next-gen Nike Mercurial 2024 soccer boots (Vapor 16/Superfly 10) have an all-new upper structure and texture and a new soleplate studs layout.
Detail-wise, the next-generation Nike Mercurial 2024 soccer boots are replacing the two studs in the center of the foot with unique embossed lines (called Speed fins). The heel stud retains its structure.
