Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, commonly known as Michelangelo, was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet, and engineer whose legacy is deeply woven into Italy’s cultural heritage. The jersey's print pays homage to four of Michelangelo's most famous works: The Statue of David, The Sistine Chapel, The Creation of Adam, and La Pieta.
The centered Italy crest takes inspiration from Italy's 2004 kit. The colors of the print and neck/sleeve cuffs represent the heavens and purity, which are often depicted in Michelangelo's work.
