Bayern Munich Players Again Opt for Fan Version Shorts Over Authentic Issue

  • Bayern Munich Shorts: Bayern Munich players are consistently observed wearing the fan version of their Adidas match shorts instead of the authentic player-issue version.
  • Distinctions Between Versions: The main differences between the 'Authentic' and 'Replica' shorts are the athletic cut, heat-applied logos on the authentic version versus embroidered logos on the replica, and the length of the three stripes.
  • Reason for Preference: The likely reason Bayern Munich players prefer the replica shorts is due to individual player comfort and fit preferences.

An interesting observation has been made regarding the on-pitch attire of Bayern Munich players by our follower and Bayern kit expert Kai: Bayern appears to be consistently wearing the "replica" or fan version of their Adidas match shorts, rather than the "authentic" player-issue version. This continues a trend seen in previous seasons.

FC Bayern Munich Wears Fan Shorts With 25-26 Kits

The primary distinctions between the two versions, as highlighted in comparisons, lie in their cut and the brandings.

  • Cut: The "Authentic" shorts have a more athletic cut. In the case of the Bayern shorts, the authentic version comes with a cutout at the back
  • Logos: While not the primary focus of the visual difference in these images, the logos on "Authentic" player-issue kits are heat-applied for a lightweight feel and to reduce irritation. On "Replica"/fan versions, logos are embroidered
  • Three Stripes: The 3 stripes of the replica go down to the whole button, while those of the authentic stop before
  • Material: Interestingly, the core material used for both versions appears to be very similar, if not identical

Matchday photos consistently show Bayern players, including close-ups, wearing the shorts that match the "Fan" (Replica) specifications – particularly noticeable by the different cut at the hem and the three stripes.

While the exact reasons for this preference are not officially stated by the club or Adidas, it apparently boils down to individual player comfort, specific fit preferences for the replica cut. It remains an interesting quirk for kit aficionados to observe.

What are your thoughts on Bayern players opting for the replica shorts? Have you noticed similar instances with other teams? Comment below.

No More Nike: Adidas Croatia 2026 Training Kits Revealed

Following their switch from Nike to Adidas, Croatia's new training kit set for 2026 have been unveiled in the latest training camp for youth teams' goalkeepers.

However from what we've seen, both of the new jerseys are simply from Adidas Tiro 26 League template range, using default black and grey color choices. These are very likely just temporary options for the mean time, until the actual designs with probably bespoke colorways are officially released.

What do you think of the new Adidas Croatia 2026 training kits? Let us know in the comments below.

FC Barcelona 26-27 Third Kit Font Leaked

Following the leak of FC Barcelona's 26-27 third kit, kit expert @memorabilia1899 has provided a first look at the custom typeface that will feature on the back of the jersey. The bespoke font design continues Nike's trend of pairing unique typography with its high-profile club kit releases for the season.

The typography features a sharp, geometric design with clean blocky angles for the player numbers, rendered in dark navy blue and bordered by a bright red outline. The player name is printed in arched, bold sans-serif lettering using the same color scheme, perfectly matching the teal body and red trim of the shirt.

This custom typeface will be worn on Barcelona's 26-27 third kit during cup fixtures and selected league games where customized fonts are permitted. The contrasting red outline gives the player names and numbers clear visibility against the light teal graphic backdrop.
