Barcelona Carries Over Kit Font for 7 Seasons in a Row
- Kit Font Continuity: FC Barcelona will use the same kit font for the seventh consecutive season in 2025-26, a highly unusual move for an elite club.
- Font Introduction: The FC Barcelona kit font was first introduced in the 2019-20 season when Lionel Messi was still a player for the club.
- Consistency vs. Change: Barcelona's long-term use of the same kit font creates a consistent visual identity, contrasting with the typical practice of top clubs who change fonts more frequently.
For the upcoming 2025-26 season, FC Barcelona will once again use the same kit font that has graced the back of their shirts for years. In a highly unusual move for an elite club, this will mark the seventh consecutive season that Barcelona has used this specific typeface.
Barcelona Carries Over Kit Font for 7 Seasons in a Row
The FC Barcelona 25-26 kit font was first introduced for the 2019-20 season, a time when club legend Lionel Messi was still leading the line for the Blaugrana.
Now, seven seasons later, the very same font will be worn by the club's new generation of stars, including Lamine Yamal, who will inherit Messi's number 10.
Barcelona's decision to stick with one kit font for seven years is a major outlier among Europe's top clubs. Most teams change their custom fonts every one, two, or at most, three seasons.
This is often done to refresh the overall look of the kit each year and to create a new aesthetic that matches the jersey's design. By retaining the same font for so long, Barcelona has created a consistent visual identity on the back of their shirts, for better or worse.
It remains to be seen if the 2026-27 season will finally bring a new typeface to the back of the Barcelona jersey.
What do you think of Barcelona using the same kit font for seven seasons in a row? Is it a sign of a strong identity, or is it time for a change? Let us know in the comments below.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani attended Eid al-Adha prayers in the Bronx wearing a kurta based on Arsenal's 2025-26 away shirt. The longtime Arsenal supporter chose the traditional tunic for the Wednesday celebration.
The garment replicates the navy blue design with red lightning bolt patterns from the club's away kit and includes the Emirates Fly Better sponsor logo. Photographs of the outfit circulated widely on social media after the event.
Mamdani, who has supported Arsenal since childhood, combined his fandom with the Muslim holiday observance in the city he leads.
Gillingham 26-27 Away and Third Kits Released
League Two side Gillingham FC has officially revealed its new away and third kits for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Produced by technical sponsor Macron, the dual launch offers fans two vastly different aesthetics, pairing a highly elegant, retro-inspired away strip with a bold and modern third option.
The new Macron Gillingham 26-27 away shirt introduces a classy and refined look for the club's travels. It features a cream base, anchored by a striking central vertical stripe in teal and green. Adding to the tailored aesthetic is a traditional teal polo collar adorned with blue and white trim, which perfectly matches the detailing on the sleeve cuffs.
In stark contrast, the Gillingham 26-27 third shirt embraces a loud, contemporary design. The alternate jersey is built on a black base that is completely covered by a vibrant purple marbled, liquid swirl graphic pattern. To ensure the branding stands out against the chaotic background, Macron has utilized a striking neon mint green for the manufacturer logo, the central sponsor, and the trim on both the modern V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs.
Which of these two new Gillingham 26-27 kits do you prefer - the classy cream away or the bold purple marbled third? Let us know in the comments below.
