The Reason: Adidas Deal Starts 1 August
The reason for the pixelated kit is simple: Liverpool's new partnership with Adidas does not officially begin until August 1, 2025.
Until that date, the club is still technically under contract with its previous supplier, Nike. This means that neither Liverpool nor its official partners, like EA Sports, are legally allowed to reveal or promote the new Adidas kit. As the game's trailer was released before this date, EA had to obscure the design to honor the contract terms.
