AS Roma to Use Old 'ASR' Crest From 26-27 Season

  • Crest Return: AS Roma will use the old 'ASR' crest on their kits starting from the 2026-27 season.
  • Timing: The 2025-26 season kits were already in production with the current logo before the decision to revert to the 'ASR' crest was made.
  • Fan Reaction: The decision to bring back the 'ASR' crest, featuring the Capitoline Wolf and the 'ASR' monogram, has been popular among AS Roma supporters.

Following the official club announcement this past June that AS Roma would be reverting to their historic 'ASR' crest, Footy Headlines can leak the timing of its comeback on the pitch. The iconic crest will be featured on the team's kits from the start of the 2026-27 season.

The decision to bring back the fan-favorite crest was first reported by Footy Headlines in January 2025, with the club making the official confirmation in June.

AS Roma to Use Old 'ASR' Crest From 26-27 Season

The AS Roma 25-26 home and third kits have already been released, and the away kit is expected to be unveiled in the coming days. As expected, they still feature the current Roma logo.

We'll have to wait until the 26-27 season to see the return of the old 'ASR' crest. The reason is simple: the design and production process for the kits was completed before Roma made the decision to bring back the old logo.

The designs and mass production for the 25-26 kits, created by Adidas, were already finalized and well underway long before the club made the official announcement about the logo change. Therefore, it was not possible to alter the crest for the upcoming season's jerseys.

The 2025-26 season will be the final year for the current crest, which was introduced in 2013.

A Return to a Beloved Crest

From the 2026-27 season onwards, all official AS Roma kits and apparel from Adidas will feature this classic crest.

The return to the ASR crest, which was used by the club from 1997 until 2013, has been an overwhelmingly popular decision among supporters. It features the traditional Lupa Capitolina (Capitoline Wolf) nursing Romulus and Remus, above the intertwined 'ASR' (Associazione Sportiva Roma) monogram.
