Exclusive: Copenhagen to Release All-New Logo

In a huge move for the club's identity, Footy Headlines can exclusively reveal that Danish champions FC Copenhagen are planning to launch a brand-new club crest, replacing their iconic lion head logo.

This will be the first logo change in the club's history, as the current crest has been in use since the team was founded in 1992.

The current FC Copenhagen logo, featuring the blue lion head and the city's name in a circular design, has been the club's unchanging symbol since its formation on 1 July 1992. It has been present for all 16 of their Danish Superliga titles and their memorable campaigns in European football.

The decision to change the logo is almost certainly linked to a major upcoming anniversary. While FC Copenhagen as we know it was founded in 1992, it was created through the merger of two historic Copenhagen clubs: Kjøbenhavns Boldklub and Boldklubben 1903.

The club's roots trace back to Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB), which was founded on April 26, 1876, making it one of the oldest football clubs in continental Europe.

The year 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of KB's founding. It is believed the new logo will be introduced to commemorate this hugely important milestone, honoring the deep history and origins of the club.

The exact design of the new FC Copenhagen logo is not yet known, nor is the specific release date. However, it is highly expected that the new crest will be launched sometime in 2026 to coincide with the 150th-anniversary celebrations.
