Cheap? New Pakistan Football Federation Logo Released

  • New Logo Release: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially released its new logo design, which has been met with confusion and disappointment from fans.
  • Design and Critique: The new crest features a generic shield shape, a basic football graphic, and a ribbon with 'Since 1947,' which many perceive as outdated and reminiscent of 1990s clip-art.
  • PFF's Justification: PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani stated the rebrand was necessary to better represent Pakistan's national prestige and satisfy sponsors seeking a modern and representative symbol, though the final design is considered outdated.

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially updated its visual identity, but the result has left many fans baffled. Despite promises of a "modern" new look, the redesign appears to be a significant step backward in design standards.

All-New Pakistan Football Federation Logo - Stuck in the 90s?

The change was officially approved by the PFF Executive Committee in September 2025 in Lahore.

The new Pakistan Football Federation crest abandons the dynamic styling of the previous version for a generic shield shape, a basic football graphic, and a ribbon containing the text "Since 1947." The aesthetic feels more reminiscent of a 1990s clip-art design than a slick, digital-friendly logo of the 2020s.

PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani championed the rebrand, stating that the previous emblem no longer aligned with "Pakistan’s national prestige."

"Our current logo does not represent the spirit, culture, or global image of Pakistan. There is a strong need for a visual identity that speaks to both our legacy and our future ambitions."

The PFF claimed the redesign was necessary to satisfy sponsors who demanded a "modern and representative symbol" for the nation's footballing aspirations.

Contrary to the official statement calling for a "modern" symbol, the final design looks incredibly outdated.

The most ironic aspect of this rebrand is that the old logo (featuring the 'PFF' text and a flaming ball) actually looked significantly more modern and unique than its replacement.

The poor execution likely explains why this logo change has gone largely unnoticed by the global football community until now.
