For years, one of the more quietly frustrating aspects of the Adidas MLS kit lineup has been the fabric used in the so-called "Authentic" versions - but 2026 marks a genuine turning point.
Adidas MLS Authentic Kits Finally Feature Authentic-Grade Fabric
Previous iterations of Adidas MLS Authentic kits were built with AeroReady, the same moisture-management technology found in replica and fan versions of the shirts. For a product positioned and priced as a pro-level garment, this was a notable shortcoming, particularly when compared to Adidas Authentic kits in other competitions that featured the premium Heat.RDY fabric used by players on the pitch.
That changes with the 2026 MLS kits. Adidas has upgraded the Authentic tier to ClimaCool+, the brand's latest and most advanced performance material. ClimaCool+ improves on Heat.RDY with enhanced ventilation and thermal regulation, making the 2026 MLS Authentics a true step forward in terms of on-pitch performance credentials.
The move brings MLS Authentic kits in line with what fans of other major leagues have come to expect when paying a premium for the player-spec version of their club's shirt. It's a long-overdue correction - and one that serious kit collectors and supporters who wear their shirts in active settings will no doubt welcome.
This also means that the differences between the Authentic and Replica Adidas MLS 2026 kits are even bigger than before. The replica lacks various elements (even including kit design elements), in addition to the different materials.
All in all, the new Adidas 2026 MLS authentic kits are 100% the same as those for the 2026 World Cup.

We have the first image of a unique new Adidas Germany retro jacket, showcasing an intriguing new approach from the sportswear brand.
While the design instantly evokes strong nostalgia for the 1990s, this upcoming release is actually an "alternate history" creation. Despite its highly authentic vintage appearance and period-accurate details, this specific track jacket never actually existed in the official Adidas catalogues during the 1990s, making it a brand new addition to their retro-focused lifestyle collection.
To achieve this convincing old-school aesthetic, Adidas has utilized their classic 1992 template as the structural foundation for the design. The garment features a vibrant green base that heavily nods to Germany's traditional away kits of the era. The colors of the German national flag are cleverly completed on the sleeves through large geometric blocks that also recreate the 3 stripes.
The same jacket will also be released for Spain and other Adidas national teams.
